CASPER -- Funeral services for Barbara Neumiller, 80, will be conducted at 10 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 1, at St. Mark's Episcopal Church with Father John Smiley officiating. Interment will be in Oregon Trail State Veterans Cemetery in Evansville.
A Church Ladies reception at St. Mark's Episcopal Parish Hall will follow the graveside services.
She died Oct. 29, 2007, at Wyoming Medical Center.
Born Oct. 24, 1927, in Southport, Great Britain, she was the daughter of Peter and Winifred Howard.
She was in the English military packing parachutes during World War II when she met Jacob Neumiller of North Dakota while he was stationed in Southport. They were married there July 31, 1945. She traveled to Montana to live with his parents until he was discharged from the Army on Christmas Eve 1945.
During the early years of their marriage they lived in many Rocky Mountain states. In 1959 the family moved to the Shirley Basin uranium mines, where she worked at Getty Oil until her retirement in 1982, at which time they moved to Casper.
After retirement she was a volunteer at St. Mark's Episcopal Church and at Central Wyoming Hospice, and was nominated as Volunteer of the Year in 2003.
She and her granddaughter Michelle traveled back to Southport and celebrated her 70th birthday, her only trip back to her birthplace.
An avid knitter, crocheter and quilter, she made many items for her family and friends.
Survivors include her sons, Wayne and his wife and Michael, all of Casper; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and a daughter-in-law.
