Barbara Kay (Hagle) Gehrett,60, of Casper, passed awayon May 4, 2012 at University Medical Center in Denver, CO.
Barbara was born August 29, 1951, the daughter of George and Donna (Harr) Hagle in Binford, North Dakota.
Barbara was raised in Binford and Valley City, North Dakota. She was educated in Jamestown, North Dakota and Casper, Wyoming.
On October 19, 1968 she married Donald Gehrett and they were blessed with three children; Donnie,Cathy and Jennifer. They were married for fourteen years. Barbara and Don were separated for seventeen years, and during this time, Barbara was blessed with another daughter, Shannon.
On April 26, 2002 Barbara and Don were reunited in love and marriage.
In 2004, Barbara lost the love of her life (Don) to cancer.
Barbara was a tomboy as a child and loved riding horses, a passion she shared with her husband. She enjoyed playing darts and was an exceptional opponent,until the time she could no longer play due to her eyesight.
She was a devoted mother and grandmother, and she was always there to help in any way possible. During the 80's and 90's, she worked at Frosty's, Moonlight,
Horseshoe Bar and Bob's Place in Casper. While in Gillette, she worked at Attitudes and Smith's.
She had many friends and was loved by many. She will be missed by her family more than words can ever express.
She is survived by her son; Donald Gehrett II and his wife Dottie of Gillette, WY. Three daughters; Cathy Wicks and Robert Aplanalp, Jennifer Pascual and Anthony Baptiste, and Shannon Boomer; all of Casper, WY. Two Brothers; David Hagle of San Diego, CA and Dean Hagle of Casper, WY. Four sisters; Marilynn Richardson of Falls Church, VA, Bonnie Peterson, Beverly Bryan and Beth Russel; all of Casper WY. Thirteen grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Gehrett, her parents, George Hagle, Donna and Bill Hoffhine, and her brother, Darrell Hagle.
A private family service will take place. A gathering of family and friends will be held at the Parkway Plaza at 2:00 PM, Saturday, May 12, 2012.
Donations may be made in Barbara's name to Central Wyoming Hospice.
