Arlyne Dunmire

Dorothy 'Arlyne' Dunmire, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, born in Ipswich, SD on December 29, 1924 to Oscar and Alice Denton joined her Heavenly Father, parents, twin brother, Walter, and seven other brothers and sisters on March 3, 2010. She is the last surviving sibling of this family. Memorial services will be held Saturday, March 27, 2010 at 11 AM at First Christian Church, 520 CY Avenue, Casper, Wyoming.

During World War II, Arlyne was a Rosie the Riveter with Boeing Aircraft in Seattle, WA. She moved to Powell, WY following the war to live with one of her sisters. There she met and married Joe Dunmire, love of her life, on March 28, 1947 in Billings, Montana. They lived in Powell, WY until moving to Casper in 1952. Arlyne was a stay-at-home mom who nurtured her daughters and assisted with school activities. In 1963, she began her employment with the Natrona County School District, retiring from the school district June 30,1989. Arlyne was instrumental in forming the Natrona County Association Educational Office Personnel (NCAESS) in 1974 and was treasurer in 1977-1978. She served as president of the Wyoming Association Educational Office Personnel (WAEOP) in 1975. She was a key member in organizing the scholarship program in 1979.

Arlyne was a long-standing member of First Christian Church and was active in the Christian Womens' Fellowship, Group #3. She was also a member of the Wyoming Medical Center and Shepherd of the Valley Care Center auxillaries. Arlyne supported Joe in his Shrine Club activities and was a member of Kheta Court #59. As members of the Good Sam's Club they enjoyed RVing after retirement, when not spending time at the cabin on Casper Mountain. Winter activities at the cabin included snowmobiling with friends and family.
Following complications of a brain abscess in 2005, Arlyne resided at Life Care Center of Casper where she was assisted by a loving staff. To show her appreciation for the care she received, she maintained a 'candy drawer' to share with her care givers and visitors. Arlyne was a giver. She generously gave her time, her love, and her delicious baked goods. She loved sharing, caring and helping.

Arlyne is survived by, and will be greatly missed by, her loving husband of 62 years, Joe, daughters: Jolene (Rob) Knaus, Coelene (Jim) Martin, Dawn (Bruce) Ciocarlan; Grandchildren-Kristen (Jeff)Atkinson, Dray Thompson, Amber Langdon ,Joe Thompson; Great-Grandchildren: Eddie and Cristopf Atkinson. Bonus grandchildren: Zach (Lisa) Knaus, Adrian Knaus, Barbara (Danny) Winer, Christy (Tim) Eulberg, Jonathon ( Kayla)Ciocarlan; Bonus Great-Grandchildren: Katelyn and Carter Knaus, McKayla, Chelsea, Lane, Trystin, Coral, Ty, Cole.
