Anne R Turner, 90, passed away December 12, 2023 at Primrose Retirement Community of Casper in Wyoming. Anne was the daughter of Bernard and Helene (Lueders) Radeker born in Walton, NY. Anne graduated as the valedictorian of Walton High School in 1951. In 1955 she married her husband, Charles Turner, of 57 years. Anne and Charles lived in Walton for most of their lives where they raised four children. Anne balanced her time as a loving wife and mother while attending college and earning an AA degree from SUNY Delhi in 1974 and a BA from SUNY Oneonta in 1980. During her 12 year college stint she also managed to serve as a Cub Scout Den Leader, 4-H Leader, and Girl Scout Leader. Anne also was the Fresh Air Fund Coordinator for Delaware County, sang in the Congregational Church Choir, and later volunteered at the Delaware County Historical Association.
In 1981, Anne became the Library Director of the William B. Ogden Free Library for sixteen privileged years where she oversaw the expansion and renovation of the library. One of her passions was reading to young kids as part of the Children's Reading Program. As the Director, she was chair of the State of NY Central Library Advisory Committee and member of the Delaware County Directors Committee; Library Support Group; and the Four County Youth Committee.
Anne's life centered around her family. She loved hosting large family gatherings during the Holidays. She loved spending time with her grandkids and great-grandchildren. She was an avid reader and loved: bird watching, camping, playing cards at bridge parties and with her family, and listening to music. In 2004 Anne and Charles moved to Casper, WY where they enjoyed the outdoors and spending time with family.
Anne was preceded in death by her parents and her brother William Radeker. She is survived by her brother Herb Radeker of Syracuse, NY; son Clarke Turner of Casper; and her daughters: Lori Covell of Simi Valley, CA; Kelly Drier of Red Hook, NY; and Beth Turner of Casper.
