On the morning of April 04, 2014 Anna Maria Roszel passed away at the Wyoming Hospice Center in Casper Wyoming after a battle with a longtime illness. Anna was born March 20, 1936 to Michael and Ella Binder in Königsfeld Tetsch Hungary. Anna was third of nine children. As a small child Anna's family moved to Drexlerhau Slovakia, where her father worked as a stone mason. During World War II Anna and her family were interned in a concentration camp, where they endured many hardships. One was the loss of her younger sister Sieglinde. At the age of ten Anna's family was sent to live in West Germany, where she grew up and completed school. In 1958 Anna met husband John Roszel who was stationed in Germany with the U.S. Army. They married in 1959 in Aschaffenburg Germany. Anna gave birth to daughter Silvia in 1960, where she passed away as a baby. Anna and John were reassigned to Fort Hood and lived in Killeen Texas until discharged from the U.S. Army, March 1961. After the army they moved to Casper Wyoming where she gave birth to son Randall later that year. In 1962 Anna and John moved to Lander where she gave birth to son Frank in 1964. They moved to Glenrock before settling in Casper. Unbeknown to anyone Anna had studied for her U.S. citizenship. This well kept secret was revealed on August 12, 1976 when she was sworn in as a U.S. citizen in Casper. Anna is preceded in her death by her mother, father, daughter Silvia Marie, sister Sieglinde, bothers Anton and Albert, all of German decent. She is survived by husband John, son's Randall and Frank, several Grandchildren and Great-Grandchildren. In Germany she is survived by her brother Thomas and Sisters Elisabeth, Emma, Maria Magdalena and Gabriela and their families.
Services for Anna will be held Thursday April 10 at 10:00 A.M. at Newcomer Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers a contribution to your favorite charity in Anna's name would be greatly appreciated.
