Angela DeBernardo, born December 6, 1923 in Ribera, Italy, died September 6, 2015 Casper, Wyoming.
She came to the United States at the age of 6 with her Mother, Annette and her Sister, Phyllis to re-join her Father, Onofrio Carauna living in Little Italy downtown New York City. Within a few years her Sister Ida and Brother Anthony were born in New York.
Angela went to High School and worked as a seamstress in Brooklyn where she met the love of her life Sebastian "Bob" DeBernardo. Married at the end of World War II they began their life in Brooklyn and had three sons, James, Robert and Richard. Buying their first house in Queens Village, N.Y. in 1958 they raised their children for the next 20+ years and then moved to Elmont, Long Island where they lived for the next 25 years and celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary on January 27, 1995.
After Sebastian passed on September 19, 1996, Angela stayed in their home in Elmont until November 2010 when she moved to Casper, WY with her son Robert his wife Christine and family.
She lived the next five years at Maurice Griffith Manor with many friends and enjoyed the activities there. She always enjoyed being with her Grandchildren's families Jennifer & Ned Robinson and Michael & Amber DeBernardo and her Great-Grandchildren, Robert Mathis, Mia Sophia, Baylee Robinson, and Sullivan DeBernardo playing in the back yard pool or running in the yard.
Angela is survived by her Sons Robert and Richard (Beth Adams), six Grandchildren, Jennifer DeBernardo Robinson, Michael DeBernardo, James DeBernardo, Alex DeBernardo, Diana DeBernardo, and Danielle DeBernardo; and six Great Grandchildren, Robert, Baylee, Mia, Sullivan, Hannah and Jake.
A visitation will be from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM, Thursday, September 10, 2015, at Newcomer Funeral Home Casper Chapel. A funeral service will be held 10:00 AM, Friday, September 11, 2015 at the funeral home. Interment will take place at Holy Rood Cemetery in Westbury, New York.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggest donation be made to the St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital in Angela's name.
