Amelia Buchholz

Amelia Fern (Coon) "Midge" Buchholz February 15, 1924 – January 8,2011.
Born Feb 15, 1924, in Hartwell, NE to Glenn and Fern Alice (Bliss) Coon. Died Jan 8, 2011, at Shepherd of the Valley Care Center in Casper.
On Jan. 25, 1946, at Elk Mountain, Wyoming she married John Otto Buchholz. They ranched in the Medicine Bow, Leo and Alcova areas until 1966 when he family moved to Casper.
In 1953 she began teaching local ranch children, in one room schools houses. In the fall of 1961 she began teaching at Mountain View Elementary School, and remained there until her retirement in 1981. In her leisure time, she enjoyed sewing and creating beautiful embroidered gifts for family and friends.
Survivors include her son, Phil Buchholz (Janet) of Saratoga; her daughters Dorothy Hammons (Bob) of Kennewick, WA, and Betty Heide (Dan) of Parker, CO; four grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, two brothers, Robert and Glenn Coon, jr and two sisters, Margaret Coon, and Loretta Maxwell.
The family would like to thank the Shepherd of the Valley Care Center for their wonderful care of Midge.
Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 12 and Funeral Services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, January 13, at Newcomer Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made to Mountain View Elementary School.
