~ Words from Bob Chitwood- Key Energy Services~
Allen was one of the most dedicated, loyal and hard working employees I have had the privilege of working with. He truly embodied our Core Values of Safety, Ethics and Integrity. He was always committed to doing the right thing no matter what and had a passion for employee safety that was matched by very few. Allen joined the Key family in 1998 when Key acquired Colorado Well Services. He helped bring a new safety attitude and culture wherever he worked, including the time he spent supporting the Rocky Mountains and the Permian Basin. Allen and his handpicked team were the original authors and sponsors of the Key Certified Rig Operator program, and helped open the Casper Training Center, where thousands of Key employees have been trained over the years. He was a 2005 Rising Star, a management training program for which only the best of the best were selected. And Allen was truly the best of the best. In 2010, Allen was promoted to his most recent position of Sr. HSE Director, and he and Billie moved to Houston.
Allen will be missed by the many people at Key whose lives he touched. He called many of his work friends "buddy". And that is exactly what Allen was to so many people. He treated everyone like his buddy, always looking out for others and willing to do anything for anyone. He was a patient teacher and did not get frustrated no matter how many times someone asked him "why?" That is mark of a true teacher and mentor.
Allen will be missed more than words can adequately describe.
