Allen Moffat

Allen E. Moffat passed away in the early morning hours of Monday, January 11, 2016. He was 77 years of age. Allen was born to Earl M. and Alice A. Moffat on August 17, 1938 in Greeley, CO. He graduated from Evans High School (CO),Class of 1956.

In January of 1957, Allen joined the Navy at the urging of his father. He was a Machinist Mate on the destroyer, USS Ellison. Allen sailed to the Mediterranean twice, Cuba, and Lebanon to name a few. He was stationed out of both Charleston, SC and Norfolk, VA. Allen proudly served his country for four years.

Allen returned to Evans, CO in 1961 to work with his father at Moffat & Son until 1972, when he ventured out on his own in Powell, WY.

Allen finally settled in Casper in 1982, re-started Moffat & Son, and eventually built his dream home in 1990.

Allen was a huge car enthusiast; racing, building, and collecting and was successful at all three.

Allen leaves behind two daughters Carla J. Moffat of Savage, MN and Jody L. Moffat of Hayden, CO; a son James A. Moffat and wife Christine R. of Casper, WY. He had four grandchildren, Bailey, Tyler, Jonah, and Jayden. In addition, Theodore A. Gage, whom Allen considered a son.

Allen was preceded in death by his father and mother, as well as a grandson, Ryan A. Moffat.
