Allen Jay Keeler, 61, of Saratoga, WY, passed away Aug. 13, 2011 at The Wyoming Medical Center.
He was born April 9, 1950 in Eaton Rapids, MI, the son of Ron and Jean Keeler. He was united in marriage to Carolyn June 23, 1972 in Battle Creek, MI. He attended Eastern Michigan State University and Michigan State University, then received a Masters degree in Education Administration from The University of Wyoming. Allen taught special education and served in School Administration for over 38 years. He started his career in Michigan, then moving to Wyoming, served in The Natrona and Carbon County School districts. He served as a Boy Scout Leader of Troop 167 for over 10 years. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and The Shriners. He was an avid outdoorsman enjoying hunting and fishing with his family. He also enjoyed doing his families genealogical research. Allen's life had a positive impact on all who knew him and he will be greatly missed by his family, friends and colleagues.
Survivors include his wife, Carolyn, two sons, Justin and his wife Zubaida, Adrian and his wife Kathy his mother, Jean, 5 grandchildren, Layth, Layali, Nafisa, Grant and Garrett, three brothers, James, George and William, two sisters, Judy Keeler and Roseanne Hayward. He was preceded in death by his father.
Memorial services will be Wed. Aug, 17, 2011, 3:00 PM at The First United Methodist Church, 332 E. 2nd, Casper, WY with Pastors Tim Adams and Steve Barnett officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to a fund for the grandchildrens' education in care of Lynne Michelena, First Interstate Bank, P.O. Box 430, Buffalo, WY 82834.
