Alice Elaine Richter, 91. of Casper, Wyoming, passed away on February 8, 2020, following a lengthy battle with Alzheimer's.
In keeping with the wishes of Alice no services will be held. Cremation and burial will take place under the direction of Newcomer Casper Chapel.
Alice Elaine Havlicek was born August 13, 1928 in Crete, Nebraska. She was the daughter of Lumir and Bertha (Boekel) Havlicek. Alice grew up in Crete, graduating from Crete High School. Following high school she attended Doane College in Crete for two years. After Doane College she attended the Colorado State College (CSC) of Education in Greely, Colorado, now known as Northern Colorado University. Alice earned her Bachelor of Arts in Education from CSC.
After graduation from college Alice worked as an elementary school teacher in Nebraska, California and Wyoming. In December of 1952 Alice married Charles L. Richter. They lived in Casper, Wyoming most of their married life, except for a couple of years in Worland, Wyoming. After settling in Casper Alice taught for over 25 years in the Casper schools. Most of that time was spent in the elementary physical education program and as a physical education teacher at Dean Morgan Junior High School. She retired from the Natrona County School District in May of 1984.
Alice is survived by her two sons, Charles, Jr. and his wife Kathy of Park City, UT and David of Casper, WY; Two grandsons, Zachary and Caleb; Five great grandchildren Quinn, Hallie, Layne, Luke and Lilly.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lumir and Bertha Havlicek; brothers Larry, Gerald and Byron Havlicek; and her husband, Charles.
Alice's remains will be buried with her husband Charles' remains at Oregon Trail State Veteran's Cemetery in Evansville, Wyoming.
