Alfred Wolter
Funeran services from Alfred Wolter will be held 10:00 a.m. Friday April 25, 2008 at Trinity Lutheran Chruch with Pastor Holthus officiating. Interment will be in Wyoming Memorial Gardens.
He passed away in the arms of the Lord on April 19th, 2008. He was born on October 28, 1921 to Emil and Maria (Endruscheit) Wolter. Alfred was raised in the village of Peremtienen near the city of Koenigsberg, East Prussia, Germany.
He was educated in Germany. In May 1941, he enlisted in the Luftwaffe. After being wounded in Russia he was returned to Germany. In November 1944 he was captured by the US Army in France. While in the POW camp he started trying to come to the US. He was released from the POW camp in June 1946.
He came to the US in December of 1949. He worked for his uncle Fritz Wolter, Masonry contractor for several years. He then worked for the board of public utilities from which he retired December 31, 1986.
He married Melveadean Jolley on December 24, 1955 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Casper, by Reverend A.G. Johnson. Alfred was a member of the Lutheran Church
Due to ill health the couple moved their home to Arizona with their daughter Marie and family.
Survivors include his loving wife of 52 years, daughters Anita of Casper and Marie, grandchildren Michael Alfred Curtis, Amanda Marie (Devin) Lankford, great granddaughter Akela Marie Lankford all of Sahuarita, AZ. special adopted daughter, Karen (Bill) Harden of Casper, sister Margaret Jestade of Langen, Germany, and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death, by his parents, brothers, Heinz, Otto and Fritz, and sister Elly
Eifler.
