Agnes Cecelia Malsom-Binfet

April 14, 1925 — November 23, 2016

Agnes Binfet (Malsom), 91, passed away on November 23, 2016 following medical complications. She was born on April 14, 1925 near Onaka, South Dakota to Margaret (Bosch) and Jacob Malsom. She was raised on a South Dakota farm along with 16 brothers and sisters.

After growing up in South Dakota, Aggie met and married George Binfet on January 12, 1943. Together they moved to Wyoming and had 6 children. Her heart's desire was one day to become a nurse, but she selflessly stayed at home and worked hard to raise her family.

Aggie was an amazing seamstress. She had a thriving alteration business for years and lovingly taught her daughters and granddaughters how to sew. She and George owned and operated a local sewing machine store for several years as she shared her love of sewing with the community.

If Aggie wasn't sewing, you would probably find her in the garden pruning all the vegetables and berries she grew every year. She loved to garden. She spent many hours planting, pulling, canning and teaching the trade to her children and grandchildren.

Once a month Aggie would get all dressed up for Bridge Club. Aggie loved playing cards and many of her lifelong friends were made while sitting at the card tables playing Bridge and snacking on nuts.

Aggie loved her family very much. She was a caring mother of 6 and grandmother to many. If you spent any time with her, you knew a few things: you don't waste anything, you work hard and slow to do it right the first time, the best place to keep an extra tissue is up your sleeve, and chicken broth will cure anything!

Aggie was preceded in death by 5 brothers: John, Ralph, Albert, Leo and Gene, 7 sisters: Mary, Eva, Lena, Theresa, Angeline, Matilda and Loretta; her husband George; her daughter Elaine and her granddaughter Shawna. She is survived by 1 brother Pius, 2 sisters: Dorothy and Ann, 5 children – Norma Bowman, Randy Binfet (Vera), Jerry Binfet (Kathy), June Andrews (Dan), and Kim Scharosch (Dave), 14 grandchildren, and 24 great-grandchildren.
