Agapito "Pete" Mendoza, 73, of Casper, Wyoming passed away Saturday, March 16, 2024 at Central Wyoming Hospice and Transitions.
Pete was born on December 26, 1950 to Manuel and Mary Mendoza in Goshen County, Wyoming. Pete served in the United States Air Force from 1970-1976 and Army National Guard from 1984-1987.
He was a proud Veteran. He attended Casper College, and University of Wyoming, and spent the remainder of his working career in the oilfield and working on
the pipeline.
His favorite hobbies included, spending time with June, Maria, and his grandchildren, listening to oldies, having a cold one with his Niece Erica Mendoza, fishing, telling stories of his life growing up with Frank and Manuel. He never knew a stranger and always had a contagious laugh, and quick-witted remark or a tall tale for everyone around him.
Although he will be greatly missed here on earth, his heart was always being pulled towards Heaven to be with his mother Mary, his daughter Crystal, and his brother Frank.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Crystal D. Mendoza; siblings, Madeline Mendoza-Isais, Manuel B. Mendoza Jr. and Frank Mendoza.
He is survived by his sister, Rosalie Clark; daughter, Maria (Dustin) Smuin; his life partner, June Caldwell; his many Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren; as well as many other relatives and friends.
We would like to thank all of the staff at Central Wyoming Hospice and Transition for such great care they gave to him and the family during his short stay.
Services will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, April 12, 2024 at Oregon Train State Veteran's Cemetery, 80 Veterans Drive, Evansville, WY 82636 with a luncheon to follow at the Evansville Community Center, 71 Curtis Street, Evansville, WY 82636.
