Deborah (Deb) Kennedy
At her request, there will be no services for Deb Kennedy, 57, of Riverton, Wyoming. Deb passed away peacefully, Thursday, July 23, 2009, in Casper, at the home of her brother Joe after a short struggle with cancer. Deborah Ann was born February 21, 1952 to Duane "Buck" and MaryAnn Kennedy in Newcastle, Wyoming. She spent most of her growing up years in Highmore, South Dakota and graduated from high school there in 1970.
Deb purchased the Hi-16 Drive-In, in Newcastle in the late 70s and ran a very successful restaurant business there until 2000. After selling the restaurant, Deb moved to Riverton and worked for Brunton for many years. Most recently she was employed as the manager of the Wind River Village Apartments where she resided for the last 14 years.
She is survived by her brother, John Kennedy and his partner, Heather Cairns of Sundance, WY and her brother Joe (Brenda) Kennedy of Casper. In addition, Deb is survived by a nephew, John Thurman of Colorado Springs, CO, nieces Lindsey Thurman of Riverton, DJ Kennedy of Gillette, Abegail Kennedy of Casper and great-niece Tori Thurman of Riverton. Her parents, Buck and MaryAnn, her sister, Kathy Thurman, and her nephew Jacob Kennedy preceded Deb in death.
Her final request was that there be a picnic in her honor. Friends and family are invited to that picnic Sunday, September 6, from 1-4 at the home of Joe and Brenda Kennedy – 2714 East 6th, Casper WY.
