Toni Gail (Smith) Darling

Toni Gail (Smith) Darling, age 77, of Casper, Wyoming passed away June 4, 2024.

Toni was born in Buffalo, Wyoming on January 25, 1947 to George "Pony" and Mary (Armstrong) Smith. She grew up in Casper, Wyoming and went to Natrona County High school where she graduated in 1966.

Toni met Jay Darling and raised 3 children as a stay-at-home mom for 18 years. Thereafter, she began working at the Kelly Walsh High School childcare program, where she remained for 17 years. She made some truly wonderful friends during her time at Kelly Walsh, and she had so many wonderful memories from her time there. She has always held a very special place in her heart for her "KW mamas" and her "KW babies." After retiring, Toni devoted her time to volunteer at Food for Thought hunger relief organization. She built meaningful relationships while contributing to the community.

In addition to her career, Toni had a variety of hobbies that brought her joy. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, crafting, feeding squirrels and birds in her backyard, gardening, and cherished moments spent with family and friends.

Toni is survived by her husband, Jay Darling, brother, Jerry Smith of Niceville, FL; children, Shannon (Mike) Streeter, Michelle (Jeremy) Bowden, Michael Darling (April), and her grandchildren, Megan and Chad Streeter; Chloe, Amelia, Jax, and Remy Bowden; and Maddy, Nolan, Lily, and Emma Darling.

She is preceded in death by her parents, George "Pony" and Mary Smith, and son Todd Darling.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00am, Monday, June 10, 2024, at Oregon Trail State Veterans Cemetery in Evansville, Wyoming.
