Willie M. Moyle

August 8, 1955 — February 8, 2024

Willie Moyle, 68 of Casper, Wyoming passed away after years of fighting health issues on Thursday, February 8, 2024, at her home. She was surrounded by her family and beloved dogs.

Willie was born in Ponca City, Oklahoma on August 8, 1955, to Alfred William and Stephanie S. Vance. Her family moved to Ethiopia when she was two years old, where she spent the next five years of her life. One of her favorite memories and pictures from that time was meeting and receiving a gold coin from Ethiopian Emperor Haile Selassie. Her family moved to Casper, WY in 1965 where she attended Pineview Elementary School, East Junior High, and Kelly Walsh High School, graduating in 1973. She received her B.A. in Education from the University of Wyoming in the Spring of 1977. Willie was married to Jerry Moyle in January of 1976. After college they had two children, and Wille became a stay-at-home mother.

Willie was an excellent artist and started her own pottery business out of her home in 1990. She spent the next seven years perfecting her craft, which included her favorite invention, hand thrown tiny tea sets. She was also very proud of her 2,000-pound kiln that she named Smaug. She retired her business in 1997 when the family moved, and she began dealing with the beginning of her health issues.

Willie was a natural teacher and loved spending time with kids. She spent her free time volunteering at the Fairdale library while her kids were in grade school. She later had a one-on-one tutoring job at Pineview school. Reading was one of her great passions and she loved being able to pass that along to children.

Willie was an avid pet lover and spent her entire life surrounded by her dogs. While her life on earth was way too brief, she was deeply loved by the people that meant the most to her, her family. Her entire life was consumed by the love she had for her family and dogs. She had a great sense of humor and was always ready with a quick retort. As with all obituaries, words cannot express what she meant to her family, she will be missed.

She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Jerry Moyle; her daughter Abigail Morgan, of Ft. Collins, CO; her son, Jeremy (Kelli) Moyle of Casper, WY; her brother, Leon Vance of Hamilton, MT; and grandchildren Emmy Moyle, Adelynn Moyle and Aela Steidley. She is preceded in death by parents William "Bill" Alfred Vance and Stephanie Thompson Vance and sister Michel Susan Vance.

The family will have a memorial at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made out to Central Wyoming Hospice at 319 S. Wilson Street, Casper, WY 82601.

Arrangements are under the direction of Newcomer Casper Chapel.
