Johnny Gee passed away closely after midnight on January 7, 2024. He was 55 years old.
Johnny was born in Brooklyn, New York to John (Jack) & Lorraine. Growing up in Brooklyn in the late 70's early 80's was quite the adventure, but he maintained the friendships he made then throughout his life.
Johnny met Carissa (Federoff) and they had three beautiful children together (Skye, Indianna & Josh). He worked three jobs to provide the best life he could for them all. He often talked about the vacations they had together and all the memories of their family Christmases with Nanny. Indianna remembers fondly how every Valentine's Day she would wake up to the whole dining room table covered with hearts and candy and what an effort he would make after getting home late.
John worked for the Circle Line and various bars around New York City and Brooklyn. He could make the meanest margarita in Soho. All of his customers were his friends and everyone knew of larger than life Johnny Gee.
He met Jamie (Shultz) in 2008 and together they decided to take the boy out of the city. They moved to back to her Wyoming home to start over. People would always ask how he was adjusting to Wyoming and the answer was always "how is Wyoming adjusting to HIM". Wyoming was a good home for him, and he thrived being surrounded by the mountains and lakes. He was happy and calm and enjoyed his freedom.
He started a new trade in oil and gas fabrication and took great pride in all the things he learned and excelled at. He faced the unknown head on and always with a smile.
Jamie & John were lucky enough to be blessed with their baby girl, Lennon, in 2015. The three of them could always be found on their boat at Alcova, camping, playing board games and blasting music. Lennon's laugh was infectious when she would giggle at her daddy. They had quite a beautiful bond.
He developed quite a canvas of tattoos dedicating permanent ink to his children, his friend's cats who had passed, his love of the Grateful Dead and the Beatles or quotes that he found meaning in. There was always room for another tattoo.
Johnny was many things to many people. He made friends everywhere he went. He had a heart of gold, gave great hugs and cared deeply about everything. He made sure to give anything extra he had to anyone in need. He lived life to the fullest for as long as he could. He did everything as large as possible and made everything a party.
We will miss you Gee.
