Fred Allen Nemitz

January 29, 1937 — December 7, 2023

Fred Allen Nemitz, 86, passed away peacefully in Casper, Wyoming, on December 7, 2023. He was born January 29, 1937 to Charles Herman Nemitz and Anna Matilda Lemke in a farmhouse in Gales Township, Redwood County (Walnut Grove Plum Creek), Minnesota. He was baptized and confirmed Lutheran. Fred left school in the 9th grade and started working to help the family. He later enlisted in the Army and earned his high school diploma. Fred was a military policeman for the United States Army and stationed in Karlsruhe, West Germany.

In 1957 over the phone and through a blind date, he met Theresia Schramm, the love of his life and wife for 64 years. They married in a Lutheran Church in Karlsruhe, West Germany on June 13, 1957. He and his new family left West Germany and came back to the United States in August, 1959 and was stationed at an Army Chemical Center near Baltimore (Aberdeen Proving Ground), Maryland. Once Fred completed his military service, they moved to Vesta, Minnesota. While waiting for a job offer from the Bloomington Minnesota police department, they decided to follow his sisters in November, 1960 to Casper, Wyoming for work. His first job in Casper was working with his brothers-in-law, Wallace (Wally) Skelton and Elmer Schroeder, as a grease monkey on a drag line. The Bloomington Minnesota police department job offer came three days after they left Minnesota but he and Theresia decided to stay in Casper, Wyoming. He worked many years for Bunny Bread, Wonder Bread and then finally Safeway where he retired in 1996.

Fred was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed camping, hunting and fishing. He was naturally gifted, whether it be electrical, mechanical or construction. When he was 13, he wired his aunt's house for electricity. He never looked for praise, he was never one to boast, his wants were very few and most of the time his worries were unspoken. He was our firm foundation through all our storms of life and we had a sturdy hand to hold onto in our times of stress and trouble. He was a true friend we could turn to when times were good or bad. He was one of our greatest blessings and we were lucky he was our Dad.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 62 Years, Theresia Nemitz; his parents, Charles Herman Nemitz and Anna Matilda Lemke, brothers; Charles (Bud) Nemitz, Dennis Duane Nemitz and Leslie Russell Nemitz, sisters; Lois Nemitz Skelton, Alice Nemitz, Joan Nemitz Schroeder, his loving son, Rick Richard Nemitz, and great grand-daughter, Madison Perlberg.

He is survived by his children: Mike Nemitz, Debbie Hamre (Terry), Dan Nemitz, Christy Webster (Mike), honorary daughter Daniela Saur Arnu (Titus); his grandchildren: Christopher Nemitz (Ashlee), Jennifer Nemitz Perlberg, Thomas Hamre, Myka Webster, Nikolas Webster and Taylor Wells; his great grandchildren: Eli Hatch, Wyatt Rick Nemitz, Ethin Perlberg, Morgin Perlberg, John Marvel, Axell Hershman and Royce Hershman; his great-great grandchild: Graham Perlberg; and sister Carla Nemitz Daub, along with many nieces, nephews.

LORD'S PRAYER
Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name, Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, on
earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive
those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Thine is
the kingdom and the power and the glory forever and ever. Amen.
