Matthew Lloyd Miller, Sr.

Matthew Lloyd Miller Sr., passed away peacefully at home on June 28, 2023, surrounded by his family. Matt taught us all how to be a strong, driven, independent, humble, loving, and caring human being. He will be missed by all.

Matt was born in Casper, WY to Lloyd and Delores Miller and was the youngest of six children. While growing up in Casper he was intrigued by anything on four wheels and anything he could work on. He was known as a Mopar guy, he loved Mopar muscle cars, and he knew them like the back of his hand. In his early twenties Matt started his racing enthusiasm and was known to be down at Casper Speedway. His favorite car was a 1965 Pontiac GTO which he restored with the help of his children. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing and had some good times when he went antelope hunting.

From a previous marriage he had four children, Jamie (Bones), Carry, Matthew, and Mark. In 1993 he married Mae "Ailene" Wittling whom he would share the rest of his life with and gained another son, Jimmy. Matt retired from Wyoming Rents in November 2021 after twenty years of dedicated service. Matt enjoyed traveling with his wife while they pulled their 5th wheel and occasionally his family would join for weekend camping trips. He loved to fish and always tried to out fish his family whether on a boat or from the shore. Matt enjoyed his family and loved holidays, birthdays, BBQ's and any other gathering that brought them all together.

Matt is survived by his wife, Ailene Miller; daughters, Jamie Powell (Jamie); and Carry Ludgate (Bert); three sons, Matthew Miller Jr. (Amanda); Mark Miller (Jessica); and Jimmy Strader (Jennie); brother, Bart Miller (LouAnn); sixteen grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd and Delores Miller; sisters, Penny Miller; Pam Dixon (Miller); brothers, Mark Miller; and Douglas Miller; great-granddaughter, Maddie Lynn Miller; great-grandson, Asher Koberg; and great-nephew, David Niffenegger.

Services will be held at Newcomer Family Mortuary on Saturday July 8, 2023, with a viewing at 10:00 am and service to follow at 11:00 am. A Celebration of life will take place afterwards at 1:00 pm at Casper Memorial VFW Post 9439 located at 1800 Bryan Stock Trail, Casper, WY 82601. Please bring a dish to share, along with any stories you have of Matt.
