Gene Ann Hoffman was born January 6, 1934 in Downing, Missouri the only child of Dean Keith and Martha Lee (Gerwig) McMaine. Gene passed away May 2, 2023 in Casper, Wyoming.
She married Richard Lee Day in 1952. They welcomed son, Ricky Lee in 1953 and L.J. (Day) Sucher in 1955. They later divorced. Gene married Keith Hoffman in the late 1950s and together they welcomed son, Wayne in 1960. They were later divorced.
Gene worked as a waitress at the Townsend and the Petroleum Club. She also babysat for many years. She attended Faith Assembly of God Church and most recently Radius Church.
Gene was a free spirit who loved animals, especially dogs. She volunteered at the Casper Senior Center welcoming everyone, helping with meals, and visiting with friends. She loved to garden, putting puzzles together, making quilts, and loved hosting friends for coffee and conversation. Gene was a world traveler, visiting Hawaii, England, and Scotland.
She was preceded in death by her beloved grandmother, Bessie Ann Gerwig; and her parents, Dean and Martha McMaine.
She is survived by her son, Ricky (Sarah) Day; daughter, L.J. (Lee) Sucher; son, Wayne Hoffman; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great great-grandchildren.
The family will hold a private family service at a later date at Wyoming Memorial Gardens.
